Northern Kefalonia is considered to be one of the most popular destinations of high end tourism in the Mediterranean.Assos Panorama Complex uniquely combines contemporary and modern architecture.
The Venetian castle dominates Assos. It was built in the late 16th century so as to protect its inhabitants from pirate raids.
Future householders will have the unique opportunity to participate in vintage every september and enjoy wine tasting nights during the summer at the complex's wine-bar,located in the midst of an olive grove.
Assos is one of the most picturesque villages of Kefalonia and is a distinct example of authentic Kefalonian architecture. It is built amphitheatrically round the nape of homonym peninsula. The rich vegetation consisting of pines, cypresses and olives meets the deep blue waters of Ionian and together they compose an idyllic landscape that the nature could only create.
In close proximity there is the famous Myrtos Beach with its characteristic bright white sand. For the 12th consecutive year it is voted the top Greek beach, while it is also one of the best european beaches.
In the architectural projection of the complex, a part of the traditional local settlements is depicted(Assos being one of the most important),creating different units of mansions. The facade of the buildings is inspired by the patterns of the traditional houses of northern Cephalonia with patios, entrances embellished with arches and generally enriched with all the main local building elements not so much concerning their decoration but mainly their typology.
For the interior we propose a contemporary architectural style.(Open plan living room, dining room and kitchen with frugal and clean lines and surfaces). After analysing the relief map of the land and potential positions of the residences, taking into consideration both their functionality and their unobstructed view as well as their complete privacy, our planning was orientated towards building three levels of main use in every residence. On the first level there are two bedrooms, one shower, a storage room, a cellar and an outdoor jacuzzi. On the second level there are the living room, the kitchen, the w.c. and the surrounding area which is an essential part of the rest of the building since the built-in sofa, the pergola combined with the infinity as well as overflow swimming pool are an extension to the interior of the house. The third level roof is the attic which comprises a bedroom and en-suite bathroom. The selection of the construction materials was oriented towards an environmental friendly way of thinking, resulting from a bio-climatic design. The dominant presence of natural stone is combined with the warmth that the wood offers.Metal and glazed components reflect a frugal style, adapted to the compelled minimalism. The rain-water management is accomplished by collecting and storing it in special water-tanks.This way,a certain water efficiency is reassured for each residency's needs in terms of irrigation.
The desirable quality of life you are dreaming of,becomes a reality in the themed housing complex ASSOS PANORAMA.In order to ensure a carefree living, we are in the position to provide a complete pack of housing maintenance in an affordable cost.
The Venetian castle dominates Assos. It was built in the late 16th century so as to protect its inhabitants from pirate raids.Untill 1968 there was a synonymous settlement. Its 500 residents mainly worked with viticulture as well as the exploitation of the olive grove which is located in the northern part of the castle, in the extent of 45 acres. A typical example of the Venetian style is the infrastructure-road building and irrigatory work.
In 2000 part of the barracks were restored and turned into a conference centre of 800m2.Since then it has housed significant art and cultural events.
Nowadays, parts of the castle walls are still standing, as well as some buildings like the barracks, the orthodox church of Prophet Illias and the catholic chapel of Saint Mark.
Kefalonia and especially the wider area of Assos has traditionally been a rural area, during Homer times, as well as during the last five centuries. All the slopes are layered with stone walls,a fact that illustrates the systematic grape cultivation.Often in relevant literature there is reference to grape production in this area and its further export to the countries of Eastern Mediterranean through the port of Assos, which during the Venetian Rule was an important commercial centre in southern Adriatic sea.
Since our early planning we concluded that the unique rural prehistory needed to be put forward.Consequently,in the entry of the complex, a region of organic cultivation of local arbour is planned, producing 1600 bottles per year.We are also restoring a grape press of 300 years of age, that is found in the fringes of the vineyard.
